1966 was a watermark year for Shelby American in terms of style and performance and nothing lived up to the billing better than the iconic Hertz Rent A Racer. Rotisserie restored and accurate to 66 Hertz GT350 specifications down to it's Raven Black color, this is one of the nicest examples of a Shelby tribute you'll find anywhere for the money. Some of the restoration notables for this particular GT350 Tribute include; Built to spec. A Code 289 engine, mile deep PPG Base Clear Raven Black paint finish, triple plate chrome, highly detailed undercarraige, Tremec 5 speed transmission, picture documented restoration, the list goes on. As well this Hertz runs and drives as good as it looks with everything mechanically sorted and in nothing less than perfect working order from it's dash mounted Cobra tach right through to it's original issue Philco AM radio.

The Mustang GT350 held all the sales cards for Shelby American that delivered street savvy in a way no other performance car could match in 1966. This particular Hertz Tribute leaves very little off the Shelby performance parts list with options that include; Fiberglass Shelby hood, aluminum Cobra intake, quick release Competition belts, 8K Shelby tach, Shelby wheel, Limited Slip rear axle, lightweight plastic vent windows, lightweight fiberglass brake vents, Blueprinted and date coded 1966 289 engine, Magnum 500 wheels, handling package with larger diameter front anti roll bar, Cobra springs and fast ratio steering box to name a few. As well this particular Mustang came factory as an original A Code 4V, R Plant San Jose California built Fastback that spent it's life on the West Coast and includes receipts and picture documentation for restoration work completed from drivetrain to paintwork and beyond. Don't look for air conditioning or power windows here, this interior is pretty much accessorized for performance with options limited to; 8K Cobra tach, Shelby wheel, quick release racing belts, faster ratio steering, lightweight plexiglass side vents, 5 dial guage package, fold down rear seat and close ratio 5 speed transmisson. This interior is in nothing less than immaculate condition with everything functional and in absolutely perfect working order right down to it's original Ford issue Philco AM radio.






This is a date coded 1966 A Code 289  engine that's been professionaly re-built close to 300 HP specifications with everything sitting in an absolutely eat off it clean engine bay. Every other aspect of this drivetrain is either new replacement or professionaly restored from it's close ratio transmission right back to it's 3.54 Limited Slip rear axle.
