The first generation Mustang 2+2 was the staple of performance car culture in the mid 60's and 51 years later still remains one of the hottest commodities in the classic car marketplace. As well this is a Dearborn built, 63B Fastback  with a production date of June/20/65 that's spent most of it's lifetime on the West Coast and includes receipts for restoration work completed from drivetrain to exterior trim and beyond. It didn't take long for Ford Motor Company to respond to the Pony car challenge in 1965 with the production of the A Code Mustang Fastback. From it's originality to it's restoration level, to it's drivability, it's hard to find anything in the negative column for this particular Mustang that's as complete a package you could ever want in a 1965 Fastback.



Ford came through with all of the extra performance hardware to back up it's high power act with the 1965 A Code 2+2. Some of the factory perfomance options for this particular Mustang include; Competition Handling package with special rate springs and larger sway bar, premium fuel 289 4V engine, 5 dial gauge packge, HCC-AX fast response steering, dual exhaust and 3.00:1 axle to name a few.





This particular Mustang 2+2 has has all the bases covered from a restoration standpoint including the paint finish that's been professionaly PPG Base cleared and color sanded to absolute perfection in it's original Code 8 Springtime Yellow. Every other exterior trim piece on this Mustang is equally as perfect from the drip rail moldings right through to it's NOS front and rear bumpers.





This is a Dearborn built Mustang Fastback with a production date of June/26/ 1965 that came from the stable as an original A Code 289. When it comes to desirability the 63B (luxury trim) Fastbacks get maximum reverence being one of 5776 produced (.07%) with this particular 2+2 restored accurate to it's door data plate through to it's F6 interior while still retaining it's complete original issue drivetrain right back to it's 3.00:1 conventional axle. The A Code 289 served as a form of shorthand for Ford's performance engine line-up in 1965 and included; 4.00 X 2.27 bore and stroke, lightweight construction, 4 Venturi carburetor and 9.0:1 compression ratio with 300 ft lbs of torque. This is the original numbers matching engine for the car that's been rebuilt to absolute factory standards while still retaining it's original issue 4V intake, exhaust manifolds and Autolite 4100 Carburetor.
